The man, the myth the legend. Jesse and myself finally got a chance to chop it up with Vintage Doug at the Inspiration event on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. Doug is Ralph Laurens right hand man. He has been working next to Ralph since the beginning of Polo in the early 70's. Apparently Doug was an employee at a preppy university campus shop, one of the first shops to carry the Polo brand and since his meeting Ralph Lauren there has been working closely with him. He picks vintage gems for inspiration in there RRL line. Its was great to hear a few story's from the early days of Polo.
